FTM, MTF, FTA, MTA, FTF, TG, TS, CD, DQ, DK, trans-masculine, trans-feminine, androgen, transition, gender variant, LGBTIQQASPPMA, etc., etc., etc! Together in a light-hearted and fun presentation and discussion we will explore the vast variety of diversity in the world that we live in and how phenotype, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, partnering and relationships may be experienced, portrayed, and perceived across vast spectrums and continuums. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain insight into their own identity and expression as together we explore labels and definitions appropriate to ourselves, and others whom we may encounter throughout our lives.
Kimberly is a 47-year old Male-to-Female transgender woman currently somewhere in the middle of her transitional journey. Born and raised in Upstate New York in a conservative religious environment she struggled with Gender Dysphoria from her earliest memories and for most of her life. In her late 30s she had a paradigm shift in her belief system which allowed her to eventually begin to explore and define her own self identity, beliefs, and her personal and public relationships. She began her transition sometime around the Spring of 2006, began living in her preferred gender presentation very part-time in the Fall of 2007, began HRT in the Spring of 2011, and is now living authentically full time in a rich and fulfilling life. She has experienced several different religious and theological belief systems throughout her life, has been married four times, (her current marriage of 16 years to an amazing woman is still in effect, though not in a form that she would have imagined,) and has three lovely school-age children, all who love and accept her for who she is. She is employed in a full-time job and teaches part-time at a local trade school. She successfully transitioned on-the-job at both places of employment a few months ago, just before Christmas, 2011. She has struggled with ADHD throughout her life and has recently begun to develop an understanding and acceptance of it; she has begun exploring how to incorporate that experience and aspect of herself into a successful, functional, effective life. She is amazed at how the growth she has experienced in her personal life seems to mirror and reflect the growth and advancement that she sees in the environment around her throughout her life, and desires now to pay-it-back by seeking out effective ways to continue helping society as a whole to become more accepting, understanding, and embracing of the diversity that has always existed in the world of human population.
