Standards of Care - Arlene Lev, LCSW-R, CASAC

 An overview of the new Standards of Care, the culmination of years of hand work
from a multi-disciplinary and international committee of 34 WPATH members.
The SOC are based in advocacy and treatment model that supports various gender
identities and expressions, is more flexible and less pathologizing, and outlines the important role mental health professionals can play in addressing the negative effects of stigma. The SOC have evolved providing tools therapistsso they can stop playing the gatekeeper and becomes the door“man,” an open or doors and possibilities.
